Prevent Negative Stress in the First Place.Instead of just applying my simple and effective management techniques, I want to explain how to prevent from having negative stress. Diet, exercise, sleep, reduction of caffeine and sugar, avoiding alcohol, tobacco, and drugs are a great place to start. Each of these things are crucial parts of one's well being. Once you get a handle in each of these categories you are already much closer to becoming stress free!
1. Bad Diet- One way to prevent bad stress is to eat a crappy diet. Eat lots and lots of greasy, processed foods where you are not even sure come from. The more saturated and trans fats the better. Typically foods fried in oil are good too. Having extra flab on the body is definitely the way to be today. Or on the flip side just don't eat at all. Eating cost money you don't have. As a poor college student you should spend your money on books, plus you want to aim for about 1% body fat. The extremely skinny look is definitely in today too. Having low energy and a foggy mind throughout the day is very healthy. 2. No Exercise- Definitely skip on the exercise. Exercise is hard, makes your body hurt, and is a waste of time when you could be eating, not eating or practicing Tai Chi. Exercise releases pent up stress and tension which not something you want to do. You want to keep all the tension and stress in. A good way to know you are getting enough exercise in a day is if you can't breathe if travel up one flight of stairs. If this happens to you, you are in great shape! 3.Increase Caffeine and Sugar Intake- The "highs" you experience don't last too long, so it is always goo to keep drinking caffeine and eating or ingesting more sugar. You will often crash in energy and your mood will be negatively affected. This a good thing! If you eliminated these items you would feel relaxed and sleep better, but who wants that? 4.Get Few To No Sleep- I think it is common knowledge that sleep in bad for you. So you want to try to sleep as little as possible. Keep your mind stimulated 24/7 on caffeine and sugar is much better than sleeping 4 hours a night anyways. |
